Peter Kellner – General Manager

Peter comes to Impact builders with nearly 30 years in the construction industry. Peter started his career in construction as a house painter while in college on the east coast, and after graduation moved west to starting his own subcontracting business in Colorado. After growing that business to a staff of 15 after ten years, he continued his trek west to the bay area.

Most recently Peter was Senior Project Manager at Matarozzi Pelsinger Builders, specializing in high end residences in the modern vernacular. He spent 13 years with that team, ultimately managing a staff of 6 in the PM department while personally managing several premier projects for tech clients in the $10-14 million budget range. Prior to that he spent four years with Swinerton Management and Consulting as project manager on a $260 million bond issue, building out institutional space for the San Mateo Community college district.

Peter is a construction technology ‘geek’ and loves to take deep dives into how to integrate and execute complicated designs. He also brings that passion to the management systems for Impact Builders, bringing with him a decade and a half of experience, using integrated project management software to streamline and simplify the management process.

Chris Muenzen – Project Manager

While Chris comes to Impact Builders with over twelve years of industry experience, he was first introduced to construction working as a plumber’s helper while home on college breaks. After graduating from college and spending a few years in software development learning some of the nuances of project management, the young man headed West to rekindle his relationship with building.

Chris started as an Assistant Project Manager with Toll Brothers, Inc. in their Northern California Division and after completing the Management Training Program, moved on to Project Manager. Whether part of a team working through the entitlement and initial design process of a master planned development, or being responsible for the onsite management of both the construction and sales life cycles, Chris has worked on over 2100 homes in both the East and South Bay markets.

Wanting to forever broaden his scope of experience, Chris decided to leave the world of production building and delve into the world of custom homes. After a three-month sabbatical traveling through South and Central America with his now-wife, Chris made the switch and began working in the Bay Area’s high-end custom home building industry.

Chris graduated from the Krannert School of Management at Purdue University, with a major in Management and minors in Managerial Information Systems and International Business. He’s both a LEED AP as well as a Build It Green – Certified Green Building Professional. He spends the majority of his free time chasing after two toddlers, protecting them from the world as well as the world from them.

Jason Lyssand – Superintendent

Jason comes to Impact Builders with experience spanning almost two decades. A third-generation builder, Jason has the experience and expertise in the field of construction to make a difference. Most recently a Superintendent at Matarozzi/Pelsinger Builders, he is dependable, trustworthy, hard-working and a great addition to the Impact Builders team.

Early in his career while working for the family business, Jason was involved in all phases of building and construction. His managerial roles have included Foreman and Superintendent, however working from the ground up allowed him the expert hands-on experience to shape his evolution within the field. His strengths include team building, solving complex issues, implementation of innovative design, communication and being a quick learner.

Some of Jason’s career highlights include a modern, multi-million dollar, 10k sq. ft., new residence in Menlo Park, a multi-million dollar remodel of a traditional Cow Hollow home and a Net Zero home in Cupertino to name a few.

Another Bay Area native, Jason grew up in Redwood city with a stint in Gig Harbor, Washington, only to return to Redwood City over a decade later. His hobbies include coaching baseball and basketball, playing softball and guitar (not necessarily at the same time) and spending time with family. He also makes room for bicycle riding, wood craft projects, golf and drawing whenever he has a spare moment.

Jay Rehm – Superintendent

Jay is an accomplished professional with a strong background in Real Estate Development, Construction and Construction Project Management.

With over 25 years of experience in the building industry, developing properties in La Jolla, Pacific Palisades, San Francisco and Marin, Jay has recently brought his skills to Impact Builders. His vast experience extends across both the commercial and residential sectors and includes development, project management, construction, acquisition and design.

After receiving a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with Honors from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 1992, Jay focused on both Real Estate Development and General Contracting. He currently lives in Kentfield with his wife and three sons. He is an avid outdoorsman and enjoys spending time hunting, fishing and skiing with his family.
